The TriTech Institute Health and Social Care Technology Challenge is a free, online event bringing health and social care professionals and academics together with digital and technology industry partners to solve challenges from across the health and care system in Wales.
The TriTech Institute is an innovation led by Hywel Dda University Health Board.
The Healthcare Technology Challenge is a collaboration between the TriTech Institute and Swansea University Medical School’s Accelerate Healthcare Technology Centre.

The Challenge will culminate in a two-day, online event in September, where teams will be created, ideas generated, and a pitching event will take place for applicants to win a share of the £80K funding pot to bring your solution to life. The prize pot is funded by Hywel Dda University Health Board and matched by time-in-kind by the Accelerate Healthcare Technology Centre through bespoke support, pending the eligibility of partners.
Here is how the challenge works:
We are looking for innovators to submit a solution to a set of challenges set out by the panel.
Anybody is welcome to submit a solution to identify a team of collaborators, all we need you to do is submit a solution to one of the challenges via our online portal: https://sdi.click/tritech
We will then contact successful applicants and you will present your solution/idea on day one, Tuesday 14th, September. It is then up to you to find collaborators, assemble your team, and solve the challenge before presenting your final solution a week later, on Thursday 23rd, September.
We have the challenges, and we are looking for the solutions.
Don’t miss this opportunity to collaborate with NHS and industry partners to develop solutions or new products that can make a positive impact to the Welsh health and care sector.
Applications will be accepted in English and Welsh.
We encourage an informal, safe environment to foster innovative thinking and creative solutions.
This two-day event is a collaboration between Hywel Dda University Health Board’s TriTech Institute and Swansea University Medical School’s Accelerate Healthcare Technology Centre, with the support of Life Sciences Hub Wales, University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s Assistive Technologies Innovation Centre, and Welsh Government.
Further details and agendas for all stages of the event will be shared nearer the date. For any further information or questions, please contact:
